Dear Jack, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou .Listening to live 8 and thinking what a load of crap. Was lucky enough to catch one of the shows at the RAH. When I really want to listen to music I listen to you. I have a lot of it and that's what turns me on. Whether it is Cream, Songs for a Tailor, Harmony Row, West Bruce and Laing or the Cuicoland Express etc it is all so far ahead of whatever is second that we are forever in your debt. Looking forward to the RAH DVD and may you continue to make your genius felt.

Dear Jack,

for me the CREAM concert was a nightmare. But that was not your (or Eric's or Ginger's) fault.

It was because I bought a ticket for concert on the 6th via the web. I payd 295 GBP but these people fooled me like a stupid lamp. They promised to hand it over to me in front of the Royal Albert Hall. But on 3pm I received a phone call from them. They said that I will get nor the ticket neither the money back. So my day in London was very sad. I cried the rest of the day..... Hopefully I will get the chance to see another CREAM concert in the enarest future. Kind regards from Germany. Christoph

Hello Jack, Hope to see Cream extend their reunion to the USA, if only for a few major city dates. Last time I saw Cream was in Fresno, Ca on March 13, 1968 (Tickets only $3.50). Thanks Jack. Peace

In the early 1970's, when I had posted an ad in the local newspaper for a bass player, I got an evening 'phone call from a gentleman who said he was travelling across Canada on vacation and was just interested to know about the state of musicians and bands in the city. He said his name was Jack Bruce, and he had an appropriate accent. We had a short conversation.

I wasn't about to get inquisitive and intrude on anyone's vacation, but I have always wondered if it was you who called.

Nearly 35 years ago I saw a local TV broadcast of the "Farewell Cream" Albert Hall show, and within a couple of weeks I picked up my first bass guitar. I've yet to get that DVD but I haven't stopped growing on the instrument. I can't count the number of times I've turned to one of your recordings for inspiration or just to enjoy something not created for commercial appeasement. Hopefully you are in great health and are inspired by us around the world to continue bringing yourself and your music to old and new fans alike. We hope you make it back to the States soon. The Lord is truly with you!

Hey, Jack. Right on, mate. I'm coming to the Cream show at MSG. In order to go, I am selling my liver on the black market. But, that still isn't enough for tickets, so I'm selling my car, my wife's car, my son's car and liver, and I'm taking a second mortgage out on my house. Hopefully, that will be enough for me to afford the reasonably priced tickets for the show. Give my best to Slowhand. Latro......

Jack, I knew felix on nantucket where i was born, I never met you unfortunately, I would like to add to millions of your freinds opinion that essential ingredients to cream as well as music after were most obiously your genious and I am a guitar player NOT a bassist. this is most often not the case in myriads of bands, you have still a dynamic musical axiom that makes you MORE than human. God bless you Jack the BRUCE my son is nineteen and plays guitar but realizes you are the great Jack sprung from an era that will never be rivaled on this planet in any time. The wheel can never be reinvented.Gods speed to you.

Music being a major mood enhancer, and social tool; CREAM meant so much to me. I went down to the cross roads, growing up in Northern CA (and Hollywood too), was in a rock band, and still just can't stop rocking. I was heartbroken when Cream broke up. And years back I heard that (one by one) both Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker had both died; only to recently hear 2005 on the Radio (Lyons Den, KULV in Las Vegas) that there was a Reunion planned. I hope it gets here, and hope I can afford it (always just barely hanging in there, being a musician myself). You can hear my music at www.archure.net and I wonder if CREAM in the early days played at the Teen Fair at the Paladium in Hollywood, was that you? (inside a Tent outdoors). MUSIC MEANS EVERYTHING. More power to the hip and cool people. -Chris Holley aka ARCHURE, formerly of Mendocino, Marin, Hollywood, and now stuck in Las Vegas, but still rockin

To Jack Bruce -

You were definetely one of my childhood heros as an aspiring bass player. I remember first hearing Crossroads and deciding to save up and buy an EB3. After packing up for college, i found several old Cream records as well as the Songs for a Tailor and Zappa's Apostrophe album. It's good to see that you are still very much alive and well in music. Good luck to you, come to Chicago!

I have a question that I've been trying to figure out how to get the answer to for along time now. Watching the series "The Blues" on PBS here in the states a few years ago and particularly the segnment on Skip James that mentioned his cancer in the late 60's, the thought occured to me, did Cream record "I'm So Glad" to generate some royalties for his treatment? If that is the case, one of THE coolest and, apparently, unknown gestures to one of THE greatest of the bluesmen. My sister in law is good friends with Steve Gadd and, kind of as a last minute thing, was seated at Eric Clapton's table at a post tour dinner not too long ago. I couldn't get her on her cell phone before the dinner to ask the question and figured my best shot was lost. Then I ran into your Web page while searching the Web following the reunion shows. Interestng comment by Clapton that playing with you and Ginger again was the first time in 35 years he's been inspired by the people he was playing with. Some of the other people he's played with, such as the aforementioed Steve Gadd, might have been just a little suprised to read that. Hopefully the reunion will make it to San Francisco. Afterall, 1/2 of "Wheels of Fire" was recorded here and likely some good times were had as well. Thanks

I think this is more of a question for Jack than a comment. I am researching famous drivers of Austin Westminsters (for a car Club Magazine) and I wonder if you can help.

I have an old Cream video documentary that includes an interview with Ginger Baker. He mentions that Cream toured the States in a Westminster and it appears that the band may have arrived at the name Disraeli Gears whilst travelling in the car.

I was wondering if there are any photographs or recollections concerning the car that could be made available for possible publication in the magazine of the Cambridge and Oxford Owners Club(which also covers the Westminster). The Club would be willing to consider any terms and conditions of use where appropriate.

I have tried to find a fan club contact for Ginger Baker (who makes the comments about the car in the interview) but have not been successful hence my E mail to you.

Thanks, and greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you may be able to provide.

As a coincidence I play in a blues band in Bristol and the my Westminster (actually a Vanden Plas) has become our "mascot". Thanks for the great music over the years.

Brian Ash.

Rio de Janeiro, August 15 2005--

Hello, Jack Bruce! It's such with an enormous pleasure and enthusiasm that I e-mail to you. The very first time I heard you playing was when I was a kid, I was at my uncle's apartment in Copacabana and my brother had put the Cream's GOODBYE album in the turntable. I was clever, and I was very, very impressed with your amazing speeded up improvisations in I'M SO GLAD, the fat notes that you so electrifyingly played were so exactly placed in the frets that I then became fascinated by such tremendous, total command of the bass's neck! Oh, man!!

Later on, I bought me a bass and started fingering it and marvelled with OUT OF THE STORM, which I bought me in early 1974; INTO THE STORM had those dramatic, intense notes and phrasings that seemed that you was trying to say something...your husky voice was complimented brilliantly by the bass's subtle runs, I was absolutely out of this world, this song brought me a deep, nice state of mind. PIECES OF MIND has those pull-off descending notes, and ONE is a masterpiece, as all your songs! OUT OF THE STORM is still like the sun rays in the street in the morning. It is tremendous!!!

AS YOU SAID came too. But, Jack, your fantastic bass solo, so intense and refined, and incredibly distorted - oh man, those feedbacks and distortions, I said, "oh, but looks like a guitar, looks like Hendrix" and "it's a bass"!!!!!, things like that...I'm talkin' of POWERHOUSE SOD and it is unmatchable, the most electrifying bass solo I ever heard! Man, you have to call Stefan Grossman (who did true "detective work" to find rare Freddy King's material and put them on the video market...) to search those old WEST,BRUCE & LAING shows and market them as DVDs in the market, please try to find the show of the LIVE'N'KICKIN' album (was it recorded at the Spectrum, in Philadelphia?) and put in the DVD market!

SMILES AND GRINS, THE NIGHT THAT ONCE WAS MINE, TO ISENGARD, your current incredible Cream's concerts...hey Jack, you're a true bass hero, a Bass Transformer, with all your wild string bends, distortions, improvisations...Mick Taylor, Carla Bley live in 1975 in the OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST...thank you very much! In my website: www.theoldblues.weblogger.com.br you can see me playing in the link ARQUIVOS - NOVEMBRO 2004. My e-mail is:<bethcarlos@click21.com.br> Please, e-mail me back if you can! Congratulations, sincerely, from Carlos Bill, 44, brazilian semi-pro bass player.

JACK!: It's really great to hear the new RAH CD's The Bass Playing and your singing and Ginges'drumming is as always incredible and full of youthful-vitality and innovation,newness... The thing that I did'nt enjoy was the way that Eric does "Badge" as it was in his band, singing it in yet another key or note, like The Eric Clapton Band, NOT as I bought it in 1969 as a hit with CREAM I also Thought that Eric, sounded a bite too thin in Sound as he is using amps that are probably not: Marshall's or Hi-Watts,or Oranges,If he is using Mesa Boogies then that is cool,as Terry Haggerty from the Sons of Champlin used them in the 70's,along with Carlos Santana and also Pete Townshend,Haggerty is one of Claps biggest earliest fans and has listened to him since the old daze of John Mayall's Blues-Breakers!,'66! Hag as he is called also was the first person that I know who played through Mesa-Boogies,as he lived right next store to the orig.maker/inventor in Lagunitas,CA in the 70's..I think that since Felix Pappalardi is now long-deceased and Cream needs a phatter, more edible twin-guitar sound to infuse new organic-energy and life into the original fold...And also since George Harrison is dead..It would be incredible if you could reconstruct the original organic Cream sound that Pappalardi produced and acquire either Leslie West or Gary Moore or someone with a very Phat Full-Arse Heavy-Ballsy Raw and Organic Sound into the Cream fold to make Clapton play harder and more imaginative and with more of a heavier, less light-weight,yet clean "Slowhand" Sound,as he was beginning to do in Blind Faith,as Ginger has noted and spoke about in interviews concerning E.C.'s imaginative free-improvised playing on "Do What You Like"...Also as in the '89 "A Question Of Time" Tour interviews, you were speaking about Cream writing new material if they ever reformed...PLEASE I LOVE THE OLD STUFF ALOT....Yet "Badge" sounds like the 70's EC Band Version and that ain't right. You sound great and identical almost to your monumental ways of playing on the orig. Pappalardi prod. track from '68.Also I would love to hear CREAM doing "Timeslip" and also "Obsession","Why Does Love Have to Go Wrong" and many other great tracks from your solo efforts,I.E."Harmony Row" and "Songs For A Tailor" and West Bruce & Laing" material like "Love's Worth The Blues" and Jam on these like the old daze brotha! These tunes cain't be forgotten and buried quite-yet! It's All Good!: Love Ya Jack,We'll Jam someday I hope,I'd love to jam with you on "Apostrophe" and "TimeSlip" and tons of others...I'm a drummer since I was 9 in '66!

Dear Jack Cream has been my favorite band for 5 years now and I am only 16 years old. I've been hooked ever since I heard Sunshine of your Love in 1999. I was extremly excited to hear about the Cream reunion and feverishly hoping for a U.S. tour until I saw the ticket prices for the MSG shows. If the ticket prices are this high all across the country then I wont be able to afford to go. And if Cream regrouped, toured, and dismembered in my life and I didnt get to see them then I would regret it for the rest of my life. Please lower the prices, Jack , Please!

Rio de Janeiro, September 1 2005--

Dear Jack Bruce, hello again! I was thinking of a way of your manager go searching for older Cream live music - for example, Cream's incendiary performances at the Winterland! Sure, I and millions of professional musicians are absolutely eager for seeing the Royal Albert Hall's comeback (or revival...) concert at DVD coming October now, but Cream's live oldies must be unmatchable to see either.

Furthermore, Jack, I insist in telling you that you should (even being a little sacrifice) try to search older West, Bruce & Laing stuff so that your company can put on the market the live full of fire music of POWERHOUSE SOD - man, what a phenomenal bass solo!, you are tremendous! - and THE DOCTOR or TIMESLIP and TO ISENGARD. KEEP ON WONDERING is too an enigmatic hybrid, a jazz/rock tune with those fat bass riffs while you kept on doing little harmonica riffs...OUT OF THE STORM was recorded live as a whole? I mean, Jack Bruce, are there recorded material (other than you with Mick Taylor and Carla Bley at the 1975's Old Grey Whistle Test) of you spreading the album OUT OF THE STORM on trips? If you have, oh man, please try to market it! What an incredible demonstration of your top skills there!

To close: I am eager to buy the DVD of the 2005, May's month Cream's Royal's concert...are you goin' to reunite again in October in New York with Eric and Ginger? Okay...great. But, please, it should be marketed forever...it should be recorded, as Beatles and Presley were for the upcoming years. By the way, Jack, in 6 or 12 years, there should have a fat, full live material of OLD AND RECENT CREAM AND JACK BRUCE'S LIVE MATERIAL, believe me, brazilians consider you a big superstar, totally. From Carlos Bill, 44, bass player and singer, songwriter (Disco Voador, Norma and Suzy are songs of mine and I have many others...). Congratulations, sincerely. It will be unforgettable to see you with Cream performing NSU, SLEEPY TIME TIME (hey there!!), CROSSROADS...

Dearest Jack! I hope that you and your family and relatives and all the people you love are alright. I write something untypical to you tonight - it is also for Eric and Ginger....because you have the power? Surely you have realized whatīs "happening" since last monday, August 29th, 2005, in Americaīs "Deep South" - I remember big musical international events very recently for or against the hunger in Africa.....what about something like that for collecting goods and money and all what is so badly and urgently needed by these so badly hurt and attacked people over there who really have nothing....you and Eric and Ginger love the Blues, the Gospel, the Jazz, it is from the very heart of Jazz where the people are dying and crying right now - wouldnīt you or couldīt you and your friends organize such a music event to support these people , this area just a little bit ? So many many nice American musicians come from New Orleans , the whole neighbourhood, think about it, it just came to my mind...Call it "Letīs Save Americaīs Deep South!" or something like that... or "No More Tears ".....Iīm just a little fan of you and Cream, Iam too sad to be able to make a poem right now. I'm not expecting this to be posted, but I am taking the opportunity to express my profound disappointment that tickets for the Madison Square Garden Cream shows will be available only to American Express Cardholders. I am 31 years old and a Cream fan since I was in my teens. I am not wealthy. This would likely have been my only chance to see the band live, but now it seems unlikely that it will happen as I am not part of a small subset of our society benefiting from the corporate sponsorship involved. I can understand (if not necessarily agree with) charging huge sums of money for this experience, but to make the hurdles a person like myself has to overcome to see the band that much more prohibitive seems horribly unfair. Please reconsider, or please schedule more shows that will accessible to the general public.

Thank you

Dear Jack, I wanted to thank you for for 39 years or so of your contribution to my music appreceatioin.I had the priviege of first seeing you with Ginger & Eric at the Rhode Island Auditorium on 11/04/1968 at the 2nd show.(Heard the 1st show clear as a bell from outside). It was my 11th birthday.Ginger ended the show with Toad for 29 minutes & I stood about 20 feet behind him.(Nobody paid attention to a little kid).It was to be the last show ever in the United States. The ticket was $3.50 & I still have the stub.I started playing drums when I was 8.Ginger was then & still is now my idol. But without you (& Ginger)there would have been no Cream. You wrote 95% of the songs & arrangements.Ginger supplied the rythems & Eric the guitar.I followed your career along with Gingers after Creams'demise in 1969 and have collected about 90% of your releases along with Gingers.I again had the privilege to see you & Ginger in 1990 at the Living Room in Providence,R.I.Ginger started the show with NSU.2 weeks later you both were on David Letterman(Hey Now Princess & Ginger soloed during a commercial break which they should have shown). In 1993 at the R&RHOF you said "If the 3 of us can be together again, anybody can be together again".Now a lifelong dream has come true. The Cream reunion. You were able help Ginger to help himself out of some financial worries & show the world what friendship is all about.I thank God for your musical gift & talent. Thank you,go with God & be well, Terry Weir Smithfield Rhode Island P.S. Say hello to Ginger for me !

Rio de Janeiro, September 10 2005--

Hello, Jack Bruce! I read in your website about Cream's upcoming October Madison Square Garden concert, and again I felt that incredible childlike feeling again. I remember how great Cream was in mid 60s, and the impact that your new melodic/harmonic conceptions, as well as percussive, provoked in music fans and press and musicians all over Brazil. I remember listening to LIVE CREAM - VOL.I for the first time as a young man, and how NSU was so strong and SLEEPY TIME TIME was a blues very unusual, a blues with a psychedelia vibe. Jack, your as intense as fire subtle fingerings and your total command voice/instrument still amazes me, because I have difficulties in playing bass and singing along.

SWEET WINE had all those incendiary fast notes you played as soon as Clapton entered the first licks for starting the long improvisations...it was like a big chess game after the first opening moves!

Jack, I went today (September 10) to a DVD store of a friend of mine, and I already asked him to call my phone number as soon as CREAM LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL next October is being put to selling in his store. I'll buy it, of course.

To close, Jack, I listen very oftenly to MORE JACK THAN GOD and I must say that it is a superb recording, a very sensitive touch of deep feelings. THE NIGHT THAT ONCE WAS MINE is one of my favourites, as is your re-recording of I FEEL FREE. As always, your fat Warwick bass notes fill the spaces with fascinating impact.

I was looking forward to my first and probably only opportunity to see Cream perform live at MSG in October. Thanks to my older brother 14 years my senior, i've been listening to Cream since i was 4. But having glimpsed at the remaining tickets once the priveleged American Express card holders got theirs, things are looking pretty dismal. It seems like the only people who will be able to see the exclusive shows will be Am Ex holders, and basically the non-Am Ex holders are screwed. Doesn't really seem too fair when you think about it.

Hey Jack, I just wanted to send you greetings from Germany. You have been (and you still are) a big influence on me. But I'm not talking about your fantastic bass playing, but foremost your voice/ vocals. "We're going wrong" sends shivers down my spine everytime I hear it and you vibrato just kills me!!! You are the reason I make music. Sometimes I wish I was born 35 years earlier to see you all play. Don't ever stop and don't even think about stopping! Regards, ANDY

Very sad that this reunion has resulted in greed. I was happy when I first heard Cream was coming to the Theatre at MSG because it is an intimate place. Then went to buy tickets and found out it was changed to a basketball arena. This really tarnishes the memories. I'm 53 and I could afford it but won't.

Jack

It all started in 1966 when I was in a NYC band and played the cafe Wha? at 14...friend attended Music and Art High School and had some imports including Fresh Cream...I was hooked...Sept 23, 1967 at the Village Theatre I saw you guys live for the first time....

Segue to late 1967, mom moves me to Ft Lauderdale Florida....then a cultural wasteland...I hook up with a young bassist named Jaco Pastorius, and turn him on to this band with this bassist he might want to check out....

I never got the album back from jaco...

the rest is history

Thanks

Ron

When I heard that Cream would reunite, I was ecstatic. Then I heard it would only be at RAH, and my heart sank. A few weeks ago, I discovered via radio that Cream would play the US...but only at MSG. Unfortunately, some truly terrible timing means that I will have to miss these shows as well, shows I had been looking forward to since the early 90's. I am HOPING AGAINST HOPE that you, Ginger, and EC will reconsider and do a few shows on the West Coast, either in LA or the San Francisco Bay Area, for those who can't attend (LIKE ME!), before you back it in for good. Please please think about it.

Add my name to the list of lifelong fans who think the American Express pre-sale SUCKS! To see a show at Madison Square Garden would be an expensive deal in any case for me--but one I would do if (and only if) I could get decent seats. Not having access to an American Express card makes this virtually impossible. And I refuse to pay dime one for shitty nosebleed seats in that abyssmal acoustc disaster called Madison Square Garden! The whole thing stinks.

I waited practically all of my adult life to see Jack, Ginger and Eric perform..........now I will get that opportunity on 10/26 at the Garden. Talk about dreams coming true! By the way, tickets are not all that expensive (The Stones were more) I paid $179.00 For Row 36 Center.........good seats for sure and I am traveling from Vegas to see them. Yes, I had an AMEX Card fortunately. That had nothing to do with Jack, Ginger and Eric by the way and why should'nt they play the Garden anyway?? All shows will be sold out and its a good sized venue considering that this is there only North American appearance. There were plenty of good seats available after the AMEX sale. NOBODY can control the ticket scalpers as we all know...........thats out of everyone's control. I suppose the next best thing to seeing them live is the soon to be released CD.

Jack: Please ask The Cream to play a free-tribute for the late Chet Helms in San Francisco in Golden Gate Park on Oct. 30th for San Francisco... All of the S.F. Bands will be there Plus Canned Heat/Iron Butterfly/Blue Cheer Paul Kantner/Taj Mahal/Narada Michael Walden Harvey Mandel/Greg Errico Please go to Yahoo Search and que-in: Chet Helms Tribal Stomp I realize that Cream never played the Avalon Ballroom yet they did play the Fillmore West and Winterland and it is quite-fitting and appropriate that they pay homage and tribute to the late Chet Helms of Avalon Ballroom fame..Thanks for your great music Jack,it's the best in the West!

I'm looking forward to seeing y'all the last night at Madison Square Garden. I previously saw you in San Francisco on the "How's Tricks" tour and again in Oakland on the "Question Of Time" tour with Ginger, Bernie, .... Great every time!

Here's an unusual(?) request to close the evening - "Wrapping Paper"!

Addendum. I also saw West, Bruce, Lang at the Hollywood Palladium.

I also think the MSG ticket situation is unfortunate and difficult.

Most of us, I'm sure would like to see you in venues near our homes...

Thanks for all the years of great music, including 2 of my favorites: "Things We Like" and "Turn It Over".
