Dear Jack, My sister and I would have gotten into so much more trouble than we already were in(we were sort of bad kids)if we hadn't spent so much of our time wearing out Cream records at home(much to our parent's consternation)Thanks for being there, for us as well as the rest of the listening public! Love,Harry and Jill.

Jack:
saw the first night show at MSG '05. Cream was once again, after many years, brilliant. perhaps even a more complete trio than i saw at MSG in '68.
"songs for a tailor" and Miles Davis' "kind of blue" are my 2 favorite recordings.
i've seen 4 or 5 different versions of the Jack Bruce Band here in the states.the latest being at B.B King's in '01. you and Vernon Reed really tore it up that night!
i am 55 and although i might be too old for fan letters, i felt compelled to send this at this time.
you have given me many years of musical enjoyment
THANKS, joe

I just purchased the recent DVD of Cream thinking I would see some vintage EC but what I saw was a great bass player and the real vocals of the band. Sorry Jack, I'm young and stupid and had no idea!

Dear MARGRIT and Jack, I'm another doting fan and drummer from way back who only wants the best for you both, and everyone else. This message isn't about music, but here's some health (life extension) news that has saved many lives: cancer cannot live in an alkalinized body. cancer feeds on and requires an acid environment to exist, period. READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH." (Dr. Robert 'O Young)
just google "cancer can't live in an acidic environment" http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446528099/ref=dp_nav_0/701-8869398-0300321?%5Fencoding=UTF8&n=916520&s=books http://www.cancure.org/cancer_prevention.htm http://www.rainbowminerals.net/Rust/rot_rust_tour3.html
READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH."
One of my dreams has always been to jam with you,Jack (I love it all, from the blues to the great French group Magma and Janik Top)- but I'll settle for seeing you in good health!
READ THE BOOK, "THE PH MIRACLE, BALANCE YOUR DIET, RECLAIM YOUR HEALTH." (Get the live blood analysis done- make your body alkaline!)

Jack,
We heard some disturbing remarks on KLOS last week regarding issues with Cream not playing dates in LA because you and Ginger still could not get along. We hope this is not true.
We all are not getting any younger and it is time for all of us to get along. LA needs a Cream concert as much as London and NY. Please make this happen.
You can do it as the heart and soul of the band. God bless you and your incredible music.

Jack,I had the privelege of seeing You and Ginger here in the 23rd E Cabaret in Philadelphia,Pa. in December 1990 and I thought You both were superb.Unfortunately,I did'nt get to see You with Eric, but that's o.k.I was wondering if You,Robin Trower,Eric Clapton,Jeff Beck,Ginger Baker and Bill Lordan would form a band?Think about that,Ginger and Bill Lordan,2 drummers, that would be amazing. It would kind of be like Ginger's Airforce band, but in a new way.Bear in mind,I am only 35,but I know My music. You should try and convince Ginger into jamming with Bill Lordan, they could both do great solos and back each other up.The same with Eric and Robin Trower,I hope You like my idea.God Bless You and I hope You are well, best wishes to You and Your family.Fred Lukens

Dear Jack, If you do read this, I am honored.
I'm 14 and from PA and as a bass player you really were the guiding light. I am a singer/bass player and after hearing your work in cream i was hooked. I went to the reunion In NY in October and was stunned. I am like the only person in my grade that likes cream alot, and you. I got an Epiphone EB-3 because i like the sound you get. Anyway, youre vocal talent is pretty amazing, and youre bass sound and lines are tough but Legendary. Sorry To Bore you, but you are my absoloute HERO, and have saved me from this alternative rock that has downtuned and simple bass lines. Finally, Please Come to PA and play i really wanna see ya play.

For 35 long years I have wanted to sit down with you and talk......ever since first hearing you with Cream in 68. I was 13 and couldnt get my dad to let me go see the band.........it wasnt till 70 that he started letting me go to concerts. But I have followed your career religiously all these years and finally got to see you live at MSG october 05 all three nights with Cream. You are still the master!!!
Dont know if you ever checked out the Rhino website message boards for Cream from May through October 05 before they shut it down for good, but I was a prominent member {for good or bad} and wrote a column for Jim the Manualist on his great tribute website
http://www.handmadewebsites.com/cream/
If you Jack or any members of this site would like to check out my tribute columns to you Jack, just go to the link above and click on the
Rick Miller/Ghostmojo
link on the homepage. Either way, Jims website is superb!!!!!!!!
I sincerely hope you are in good health and will tour again very soon. With whatever band you form I will be there in the audience if at all possible. Would still love to chat it up with you sometime.....in person or on the phone.
Take care Jack, and keep on crankin out material.........you have no idea how instrumental your work has been in my life and many many others as well

When I first started to play bass at 15, I was your standard 1 2 3 4 player and i wasn't getting anywhere. Then my uncle turned me on to Disraeli Gears and my life and my bass playing changed forever. Thanks to Cream and your bass playing, I now am going to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts on a full bass scholarship. Also my band Revival has a record deal thanks to a A&R guy seeing us cover "Politician" at a local club. I want to thank you for inspiring me to become the player I am now.

This request is being taken very seriously and I am now asking all Jackettes for their help by sending to friendsofjbruce@hotmail.com an email stating why they would like to see a statue erected in honour of this incredible musician from Glasgow.
If you could send your emails to me, I will then forward them all on to Glasgow council.

Dear Jack,
Some months ago I purchased the CREAM DVD from Royal Albert Hall Concerts - May 2005, and I know you Ginger and Eric went to USA October 2005 to give some concerts there ! The DVD is just great - damned good sound, too ! I have also learnt you have been seriously ill, but I hope this is a stage of the past ! I attended Cream's first concert ever in Copenhagen 1967, and for your guidance DR - Denmark's Radio recorded their first live concert ever of "popular music". The recording engineer really goofed it. You started by playing "Spoonful", and after the foreplay you lifted your beautiful powerful voice ! However, the technician had turned mixer MIC input way up, so your voice distorted. He quickly took it down to ZERO, and after about ten seconds he brought it to normal level ! Did you know that !
In 1985 you gave another concert in Copenhagen with 3 other great musicians, and you played a tune called "Ethiopia". I have looked hard for it, but could you please verify to me, if you have ever recorded this particular tune. Thank you for your help !
Well, take care - mind your health and enjoy life and your family !
Regards,
Leif S. Jakobsen

We all look forward to Jack's next move. I hear something with Robin Trower might be in the offing which is really cool - must play "Truce" again ... I just love 'Shadows Touching'.
Best to everybody I know here and on the Cream sites - and especially to the man himself who continues to inspire us all.

Hi! As a professional bassist, I sincerely miss tremendously Jack Bruce's recent news. How is his health going? Has he any plans to tour Rio, this or next year? Has Margrit Seyffer, Moira Bella or someone involved with his old shows, tried to rescue old West, Bruce & Laing live footages? Please, come on! His extraordinary bass solo in Powerhouse Sod gets lost in the distant past. I cannot understand it. Jack Bruce's "persona" cannot die in Brazil, where he is very poorly known, unfortunately, "thanks" to our extremely poor press coverages of Cream and Jack's solo career. Cuicoland Express, JB with Larry Corryell...where is HIM? Please, don't be lazy, don't let his more torrential period die, and be forgotten. That is so non-sense, as would be someone ask to the world forget Jimi Hendrix. Best regards, please don't give up! Rio, august 7, 2006.

I was born in 1969, my Dad had done his best to be cool (a difficult feat for a Belfast boy) and had made his way to London a few years before I was born to see Jack Bruce. I was brought up to revere Cream unquestioningly (along with the Stones and Van Morrison and all the great black American blues guitarists). I must admit I never really caught on to the Cream thing until I bought Songs of a Tailor, which to this day is my favourite album ever. Happily I have been able to educate/forcefeed my younger brothers with the love of Cream.

Very sad to hear that Bruce Gary has passed away. I will miss Bruce greatly. He was very generous to me personally by sending a number of his personal collection photo's from the days that he was in Jacks band (which are located on the Cuicoland Express Back issues web site.) I'm sure Jack will also miss Bruce greatly as well. I only heard of his illness this week from an e-mail from his web administrator. Not knowing the severity of his illness I sent Bruce a get well card from Oz. Sadly it was sent the day he passed away. My thoughts go out to his loved ones. Dennis

Hello Jack, I'm a latter-day convert to Cream, as I was a bit young for you first time round (I was 8 when you broke up)and was introduced to the music by my husband who's older than me. He was inspired by Ginger's playing to take up drums and still plays today. I remember being amazed when I discovered that there was only 3 of you and I love the raw, impassioned sound.
I'm mad at myself that I missed your gig for the Scribbler's Picnic a couple of years back and unfortunately the gigs at the Albert Hall last year clashed with one of the kids sitting major exams. But we're hoping - fervently hoping! - that you guys will get together again and we will do what it takes to be there!!
Keep well and very best wishes to you and yours,
Jenne

The zenith of my musical career was after seeing you at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, my band, The Cat Reed All-Stars, played the month afterward. You got a roaring standing ovation when you played. I got to play may bass on the same exact spot on that stage and we got a standing ovation. It was a cheap thrill. I admire you and all your music immensely and wish you'd play at The Coach House again immediately! SO do zillions of other people! God bless you Jack!

So no, I don't "know Jack", but I do know good music and Cream made a heck of a lot of it in a very short time. Flash forward: My former boss now works for Harman (JBL). They sponsored the US leg of the Cream Reunion Concerts. He invited me from across the country because he felt it would "make my day for many a year". I went, of course, and he was right, very right, of course. Don't stop the music - Be well, Jack.
Almost 40 years later - and I am still blown away by every note...

Jack,I would like to express my shock and sorrow in hearing about the untimely passing of Bruce Gary, your long time drummer and friend. I met him when he was with you in'84.We all went out to dinner with Pam and Rob the Drummer and had a really great time.Bruce Gary struck me as a serious and very decent human being.....and a very strong drummer. Unfortunately, anything can happen to anybody anytime and each day is a gift.Things like this bring it all together in my mind quickly! So,I am sorry for your loss and wish you consolation and peace. We hope all else is going your way.

Yo Jack,
Just wanted to thank you for all the years of great music, but most of all for being a role model to bassists everywhere. Before Jack Bruce, the bass player was NEVER the lead singer in a Rock band! "White Room" was the song that inspired me to play. Your bass style has been a big influence on my own playing as well. You always will be one of the all-time greats. I was fortunate enough to have seen the final MSG Cream reunion show; a concert for which I have been waiting 35 years! That was really a treat for all of us. Try to do it again sometime if you're up to it. I salute you Sir, one of my musical heroes! Long may you rock! George Gelish http://www.georgegelish.com http://www.rockslideband.com

Hi Jack: I've seen You and Your band with Ginger at the 23rd East cabaret in Philadelphia,PA.,USA on December 8,1990.I don't have any of Your albums past Cream, except West,Bruce, and Laing's two albums,"Why Doncha" and "Whatever Turns You On",and "Willpower-a Twenty Yr. Retrospective".Which brings Me to My main question, will You and Leslie and Corky ever work together again?I am only 35,but I would love to see You again. That Wal bass kicks ass@!!!@@!!! When are You going to bring out the EB-3?That's a mean sounding bass Ya got there,Jack.I hope for the sake of rock music in general,You and Leslie and Corky can get together and make another recording, hopefully a live one,a double live would kick ass!!!It's long overdue,Jack, besides I liked You and Leslie and Corky a hell of a lot better than Clapton. The world needs good hard rock,Jack, help out please.Call and ask Corky and Leslie, too.By the way,if Your drummer needs a good roadie, someone to load/unload the drums, put the heads on the drums, etc.,let Me know,I would be honored to work for Your band. God Bless You and good health.

Hey Jack, I just have to say, you are the very reason that I have even began to touch upon areas of bass playing in which most teens my age I have meet do not even consider. Your amazing way of playing really touchs my soul dude. I have a few Cream albums and your show in RAH! I watch RAH at least once a month and listen to Cream at least twice a day! I can never get tired of your amazingly insperational approch to music. Thanks Jack for being a great insperation! stay cool Jack! - Marty.

Dear Jack, in 68-69 I used to nick my brothers high heel boots and Cream albums and head off up the youth club and try to get back before he got home, I was very proud at 12 years old of both of them, the boots and the albums, thanks for all the pleasure you have given me through your music, the rows with my brother were worth it. Congratulations Jack on your upcoming Grammy and BMI award along with Pete. I coninue to enjoy your music especially your masterpiece "Songs for a Tailor." In my opinion no other rock album approaches it for variety of sounds, color, emotion and humor. Of course, CREAM's reunion album of recent days was another jewl in your crown. DFS

Hi Jack, I would just like to thank you for your music and your bassplaying. They have influenced me to both become a bassplayer (7 years ago) and create my own style. Your live Cream recordings are what I base a big part of my playing style on. I aspire to have the same impact on other bassists that you have had on me. You are truly the most influential person in my whole musical career and I want to thank you for that, without Cream I might still be a rythm guitarist or some other thing. Thanks again!

Mr. Bruce, I have the honor of emulating your bass guitar work in the Cream / Eric Clapton tribute band 'Slowhand'. Your bass work in Cream was one of my first inspirations to play music, Bass guitar in general. I have been playing bass now for 35 years.

Just wanted you to know how important you are in our lives. Your music has been the part of my life and the lives of my kids born 1972,1976,1977,1981,1995,and 2001. My grandchildren from the first four hear it too!! I saw an article about Ginger Baker where he stated he had done all of this for nothing. Show him this letter and see the children he has influenced along with you of course.

Hi Jack,
A long time fan since Graham Bond days - your compositions had an enormous effect on me when I was younger living in Nairn. I revel in your bass playing, its so familiar to me I feel I know what you are going to play next...it just seems so natural. Eric taught me to play the guitar - from tapes I made from records on the radio, slowed down so I could pick out the notes...and your moving bass lines just seemed so right - congratulations on staying alive and still creating great music...I would love the opportunity to play with you ! Yours aye Alan

Jack, I, like the other writer must admit that as a kid listening to Cream ( I am 44 now)I thought it was all Eric. later I learned just who did most of the writing and singing - boy was I floored! Well chock another one up to a stupid kid. I have really grown to appreciate your tremendous talent; in Cream and later on your own or with others. I don't know if your're very religious but I feel that sometimes when I listen to music I get this feeling that can probably best be described as: spiritual, inspirational, religious....whatever. I find this happens a lot with your music, even the heavier Cream songs. Basically I'd like to say thanks for that. For whatever it's worth I think that Cream had something special, magical even, something that is not often seen. In my humble ( and overly critical opinion) none of you have accomplished separate anything close to what you have acomplished in Cream and yes that means Eric too. Millions of fans would just love to see a new Cream recording! Isn't worth a try?

Nice to see your post Rick (Miller). Must get in touch soon.
Whoever mentioned Jack Bruce and Jeff Beck together was repeating something I have long thought would be a great idea. Eric aside - I cannot think of another guitarist so suited to playing with Jack especially with the shared jazz background.
Please consider doing something with Jeff, Jack. I'm sure such a union would be highly successful. With a suitably jazzy drummer like Bill Bruford for example, that would be a winner of a band.

Jack:
Saw the second Cream show at MSG in 2005. After 37 years, it was just like old times. I've listened to Cream all during those years, never did I think that Cream would get together and do it again so very well.
Thank you so much for all you've given us; your music has changed my life for the better and made me the maverick that I remain. Here's wishing you and your family good health and good fortune.
