Dear Jack, I recently moved from Los Angeles back to my hometown in New York and was blessed to attend the Grammy's Lifetime Achievement Award a few years ago. It was a thorough and moving assessment of the contributions of CREAM and of you, specifically. Bravo!! And your acceptance speech was humble, just like you..but classy. I'm curious what the tour will look like and of course, if dates are planned for the New York area. To hear you sing "We're Going Wrong" would take my breath away. God Bless you, Jack. You are in my thoughts and in my heart. Happy New & Healthy 2008. Michelle

Hi! I wish a happy 2008 for Jack Bruce and family. Joining the excitement of the Deutschesland Frankfurt Jaz Festival release, are the feelings of excitement of countless brazilians who are eager to buy and listen to this formidable record, showing Bruce's costumarily powerul bass fingerings, as impactant as in the mid 60s Jack's performances! Carlos Bill, 46, bass player, composer, eventually sings.

"...As impactant as the old, torrential Jack Bruce of the 1967 Cream Era"...Yeaah, that's what it seems with Jack's latest release, Live At Deutschesland Frankfurt Jazz Festival, 2006. A highly original release; extraordinary "good idea" coming from Jack's label. Old classics revisited with a new vigour. Thanks so much. Carlos Bill, bass player.

at present, i am slightly (!) under the influence, thanks to a good friend who knows im partial to the red wine (wink) & who indulged me for my Christmas. ...am listenin' to a LIVE jam of yours,Mr Bruce,as is my want,a blues tune called "Spoonful" (wonder how many times you've played THAT one!) THIS version, however,is from "ALMOST CREAM" which ---to refresh your memory --- is you, Blues Saraceno and Ginger (ye know, that full-of-sh1t,talented cockney drummer that just clicks with you musically!) anyway ...it was SHIT-HOT....you guys really meshed during the jam...i'm as jealous as hell- i wanna play like THAT! UR wife may come & kick my wee blond Scots ass...but,Jack,your voice is SO SEXY...and, mister, can you play the blues or WHAT?! Now , as Im quite a fan,Ive heard most versions of your versions of Spoonful...so, being somewhat knowledgeable on my subject(!) I just needed to pop in & let you know that,of them ALL,I like this one THE BEST. You & the boys are playin' at a wee personal venue somewhere and I think THAT brings out the best in you. So hook yerself up with some pub gigs and lemme know ...cos im due to visit the whole fandamily in Sotland soon!! might as well synchronise my events schedule (haha) Janie xxxx P.S. are you EVER gonna stop stuffin' about with lyrics???!!! (wink) P,P.S. im NOW listenin to a wee bit of Joss Stone...I like her,a Brit girl with plenty "oommph"!

the new seven moons album.is just a master piece.dear jack and fans, this your friend chico rey.terry reid and myself have been thinking of you. i have not been on line or in touch for awhile. but as usual you are ,recording creating and playing at an unbelieveable scale. what else would you do.for those of you who dont have the new live big band album and seven moons you all need to fill out your collectons with thses new additions. what else can be said except jack is in fine form with voice and his playing. the seven moons is a long awaited addition and completes a triolgy with robin.liquid gold can only describe the sound that robin, jack, and gary husband make.should this line up tour, yes and the world would stop for a couple of minutes for these two giants to set some stages on fire. i only wish they would.bye for now and god bless you jack.oh yeah my new album chico rey, "a fall from grace",comes out in march on peer music, active records. hello to everyone.love chico rey

My life would not be the same without the musical inspiration of Jack Bruce. Disraeli Gears was the first LP I ever bought. Still my favorite today. The amazingly power filled bass lines led me to become a bass player. The more I listened to the far from shallow lyrics, the more I understood the value of Jack's talents. The only live performance I was able to see was a sold out performance in Cleveland, mostly bass players. For the sake of music I wish you many many many more. Chris

Hello Jack (or Jack's webmaster) - I was just reading a comment from earlier this month in which a slightly tipsy reader named Janie was complimenting a live version of "Spoonful". The version she refers to was done at The Bottom Line in New York in December of 1989. I was at that show, sitting right near the stage. Janie is right...that show was phenomenal! It was the second of three times that I've seen you perform live (they were all GREAT!) and I hope I have the opportunity to see you again. I am a drummer by trade and would love the chance to jam with you sometime. I also play a bit of bass and you are one of my primary inspirations. I hope 2008 finds you doing well. If you do any gigs to support the new "Seven Moons" album, I hope some of them will be in America. Cheers! Chris P.S. - If "Janie" is who I think she is...she owns a killer Jack Bruce tribute page at myspace.com

A hello to Jack and all his fans, apparantly I'm the first one for 2008? I came on this site cause I was lookin for new work from ( I supose a very good friend of Jack,) Kip Hanrahan, and I'm quiet surprised that there's not alot mentioned about this longtime collaboration. Due to my age(1971) I'm not seeing Jack as much as the "rocker", but as a very underestemated and multitalented jazzmusician. So to all the fans that are not familiar with the collaboration between Bruce&Hanrahan check it out, it's the most amazing music you can imagin' and there's something in it for every taste, blues, funk, soul, latin, afro, jazz, poetry....So listen and enjoy, and jack if you ever read this tell Kip to make him (and new projects?) easier reachable for his fans, cause the man(and new material) is harder to spot than a braincel in Bush his head... greetings from Tenerife, Remcy

The new "Seven Moons" album by Jack Bruce and Robin Trower is extraordinary. I've been listening to it steadily for the past 2 weeks and enjoy it more and more each time. This trio, with Gary Husband on drums, is more dynamic and perfectly balanced than the previous Bruce-Trower collaborations. Trower plays with intensity and restraint, every note is beautifully phrased. Jacks vocals are rich and passionate like his finest performances of yore, while his bass playing is articulate and powerfully rhythmic. This album is much better than anything appearing on the "critic's best of the year" in 2007. It deserves major recognition for its overall level of musicianship, taste, performance and sonics (sound quality.)Very highly recommended.

Jack! I am hoping this is the best and most efficient way to send you a message. There's so much to say and yet I don't want to repeat anything you've already heard. If I was to meet you and could only ask you one question, I suppose it would be this: On Mick Jagger's Too Many Cooks (Spoil The Soup) produced by John Lennon, is that your incredibly catchy bassline? I heard it late one night on the radio and couldn't believe my ears. I thought it was some lost Motown classic; Then to research it online and find the rumour that it was YOU laying down the back-beat? Goodness...it's unbelievable and I have nothing else to say. I wish you were immortal. ;) Forever grateful, truly, Mary-Beth

Jack, Thank you for giving me so much enjoyment over the years. I have loved your gorgeous voice since the mid-sixties and you have shown me (and the world) what innovative musicianship can accomplish. Of course I loved your work with Cream - those were some extra-beautiful compositions, such as: We're going wrong, Dreaming, Deserted Cities of the Heart. Your powerful vocalizations in I feel free and Rollin' and Tumblin' are stunning. Did anyone but me notice that ZZ Top absolutely LIFTED your marvelous lead from Goodbye's I'm so glad?! Wow. You should get paid for that! The Album 'Songs for a Taylor' opened me up to a broader view of music and 'Things we like' is one of my all-time favorites. When I finish this sentence, I will look on your site where I can purchase your latest album - Sounds like a Gem. This is my first ever 'Thank you' to any artist but I better get busy with the short list of the others (Graham Parker, etc, etc) - as we're not getting any younger. Thank you Jack - for hours and hours of listening joy. Be well.

Dear Jack, Some words about hr-Bigband consert 2006. I was there, of course, with three other fans from Finland. We were listening all the songs carefully. First I was very surprised for the first song: "Never Tell..." This is one of your songs I listen very often. In fact listening from Songs For A Taylor since 1971. In the consert hall this piece did not sound as good as on the hr-CD. The mixer has done a good job! Years ago I was talking to John Marshall in London. He told me thtat he was waching your LP takes in the studio while the first piece was ready for the LP. John told that Jack`s singing and playing was something he had never seen before. Jon Hiseman played better than ever and the band WAS FANTASTIC. In Frankfurt something was missing! Still we enjoyed much. The Consult At Sunset was very nice as well. Jack - MAKE A TOUR WITH ROBIN AND GARY!!! For the new album Best Regards: Martti

Jack, I've spent an evening re-living memories and making new ones on YouTube, watching videos I'd never seen before of you in action. It brings back many a long night I spent as a teenager with my bass. I was born a little too late in 1970, so the first "new" album I bought of yours was A Question Of Time. I had to go backwards, but it was one hell of a ride. Nothing could prepare me for the sound of your bass on those old albums, and nothing to this day has affected me in quite the same was as when I heard the version of I'm So Glad on Goodbye. Seven minutes or so in, you shot up the neck, played some ungodly awful-but-beautiful thing that didn't fit at all, and you MADE it fit, and for that I owe you. That moment changed my perception of music, and therefore my life, forever. I've been pissing off guitar players ever since, and it's all your fault, you magnificent bastard. :) To play and sing with a fraction of the balls you display is still my goal every Saturday night when I play with my little Indiana cover band. You're with me on those nights, the fuel you stuck under me lights my fuckin' fire and off I go. I'd never be a tenth of the musician I am without you, and I feel barely a tenth of who you are. Thank you for everything. You're still the best goddamn bass player I've ever had my brains smashed in by. God? Yeah right, Eric. My god is Jack. Fuck the pretenders. Love, Doug

Robin Trower is scheduled to play at the Rex Theater in Pittsburgh on March 26. I'll be there. Why don't you pop in and make an old hippie like me go crazy? Can anyone please tell me if the three tracks by Jack Bruce, John Surman, John Hiseman that are included on the forthcoming 'Spirit' compilation represent the complete recording made for BBC's 'Jazz In Britain'. I recorded it from Radio 3 when it was originally broadcast and I seem to remember that there were two 30 minute broadcasts, transmitted one week apart. I'd be grateful if anyone can confirm this and advise if the complete session has or is likely to be made available. Thanks Simon

I just viewed the classic albums "Disreali Gears" segment.Disreali Gears was one of the first albums I ever got into as a 12 year old. The piano of "Were Going Wrong" was amazing. I learned alot about how the 3 members of "The Cream " played off one another.....Truly classic!

What is it with you and Ginger Baker? How come you seem to rub each other up the wrong way all the time? I must say it does actually seem a little one way, but then Ginger does have a reputation for a temper!

The new album SEVEN MOONS with Robin Trower is incredible! You have never sounded better and THE LAST DOOR is one of your best songs of all time. We went to see Robin Trower in Feb. and he was amazing, although it would have been great to see you as well. One of the best rock albums in years! Dave

jack - thank you for your entire body of work. it really has made my life fuller. 1. whatever happened to the all of the songs you recorded with dennis chambers and andy summers? i'd really like to hear them. 2. the next thing that i'd like to hear is an exploration of the other side of jack - piano and cello-based songs. maybe a cd of reinterpretations of songs like rope ladder and as you said plus new tunes in that vein. ok. well stay healthy and make music. jk

I am a Cuban living in Toronto. I just bought "Seven Moons" and Shadows in The Air, just because a good friend still living in Havana suggested it. His name is Juan Camacho and people in Cuba are hoping you may go and play some day on the island. Warms regards from the cold Canada - Carlos Lugo Jr.

Hi again Jack. Your live appearances and abundance of new releases are really an extraordinary news for the music world. If, immediately after playing with West, Bruce & Laing, had you decided to stop playing, everything that you had just done until that period could have been enough. So...the countless achievements you did to music and improvisation, since then until now, are forever unmatchable. Carlos Bill, 46, bass player, composer.

Fantastic new album. I think that Seven Moons is the most exciting music that Jack and friends ( in this case Mr Trower and Gary Husband ) have produced for many years , and I include the Cream reunion in this opinion. How about a world tour ? Jack please come to Australia. You have many friends here who would love to see and hear you. All the best , Paul from Windsor NSW.

I dropped out of medice to become a bass player, thanks to Jack's influence, thus possibly saving hundreds of lives, but inflicting upon the world of live music a mediocre bass player! I gigged for 5 years, the best time ever, now in my dotage, working in the film industry, I still love good music, especially those great bass lines. Thank you Jack, you were and will always be, 'The Man' Pete Christopher

I'm not a spring chicken (I'm 57 now), but it's amazing that, thanks to technology, I can send a word to a person that influenced my music, and some of my friends', for such a long time. I have the vinyl, or CD, of every album after the Cream era, and I am conscious that a person is compressed or suppressed by others most of the time, listening to what you recorded afterwards. I am writing songs as a singer and a songwriter now, after so many bands, and I can feel the difference. Sometimes it takes so long to understand who you really are. Thank you for your past, present, and future work! As our destiny is to attend more and more funerals as time goes by, I think the best is to stick to life-supporting activities (I also enjoy cooking, for many people, too). Love, Carlo

Hi Mr. Bruce - :) I have a totally uncommon question for you ... I heard a rumor that you are in posession of the original Screenused Darth Vader Helmet from the first Star Wars movie "a new hope" ... is that really true ??? ... If it should be true I just wanted to let you know that you are in posession of my personal "Holy Grail" ... Cheers, Jesper
