I didn't know about the liver trouble and am so glad to read that you are well now. Not much news filters this way .........did you know that Ciny McCain flew to London (private jet I expect ) to hear the Cream reunion ? Pity about the rest of that situation ....... My friend Kevin did some stuff with you ~the trumpet player ~ Oh what good music you made back at Klooks Kleek, John McLoughlin, all the guys from Alexis's days......keep on playing Jack and if you ever visit Vegas call me !!! and Red Rodney's son is here too !!! Thank you for Seven Moons, I am really enjoying it. It is interesting the coincidences in life, I have recently rediscovered my Jack Bruce library and have been working to replace my vinyl with CDs. I went out to hunt for "Johnny McLauhglin Electric Guitarist," or the first West, Bruce, and Laing CD, and happily discovered "Seven Moons." Any hope that you can do something will Leslie and Corky next? I would love to find your version of that old Polydor album you guys put out after Cream broke up that featured cartoons of each of you on the cover. I had the vinyl and wore it out. Thanks for ALL the great music. Dan

Hi all, was looking around the net for any live music of Jack's when he was playing in Tony William's Lifetime. It is amazing to me that a fusion band of this order does not have any official live recorded music. I did find a cool version of "Dance of Maya" at youtube. What I really can't understand is that no recording survived from Lifetime's performance at the 1970 Newport RI Jazz Festival. Does anyone know of any recordings from this incredible band? (Live)

I just caught the last part of the 2008 Albert Hall reunion and was moved to tears, checked out this site and was shocked to hear of Jack's illness but relieved to read of his recovery. I saw Jack with Graham Bond when GB was a regular at Portsmouth Rendezvous Club, or possibly even before, and much later at Riki Farr's club I saw Cream.....or perhaps Ginger passed out, resulting in cancellation???. Thanks for the memories and the music. Wishing you much good health and long may you play. Much love. Keith.

Hi Jack! Don't know if you remember our meeting back here in Austin so many years ago. You signed my Songs For a Tailor LP at the soundcheck. You came up in a discussion today in a blog and I thought I would come and visit your site and see what you've been up to. You are simply a wonder and I am so glad that you are playing out and enjoying it still! Your voice never ceases to amaze me. Vocally you stand in a league of your own. Wrong Side of Town on the BBM disc is one of the most incredible vocal performances of all time. You wrote the book on the bass and your songwriting and composition is completely unique. Thanks for bringing your music to the world Jack! We love you! Never forget that! TT

Hi Jack I listen every day to your timeless powerful passionate music...my MOST recent discovery of treasure in your vault is TIMESLIP . goodness , it's bloody AMAZING . starts off with a funky slow bass riff that draws you in....then your voice is added on top , singing a strange , beautiful melody ( at first i thought you were hitting wrong notes , then i realised they were just PERFECT !) ....and just when i was gettin ma head around the mix of fine bass and starnge melody... you break into a fast-paced exciting sexy bass solo like NO other !!!!. WHEW ...Yummy ...music to sink your teeth into !!! class now think of what you CAN do , and not what you should do , when you play Birmingham . if there was ONE gig of yours i'd like to see ..it is THAT one. it's going to be a night of 'proper' music a la Jack Bruce...not a classic rock rehash... Go well maestro Janie xxxx

Hi Jack, Ive seen you in concert in the 70's at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton,in the 80's at Colne University,Ronnie Scott's nightclub in Birmingham, more recently at the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton and at the Cream reunion in '05 at the Albert Hall. Like all great musicians I know you and your amazing music will be remembered for all time and I'm sure you have a lot more to offer in the future. I wished for around 35 years that Cream would get together again - I know that sounds rediculous but it's true.At the reunion I was way up in the "Gods"and didn't have much of a view but the atmosphere was brilliant. It was a very moving experience for me - I admit tears did fall as well as being over the moon. I dont think that perhaps you or Ginger and Eric realise just how much we love and dig your music - I hope you dont mind me saying this but I think the whole is greater than the parts. Anyway,I'll be at Birmingham Town Hall on Friday evening wearing my black reunion t shirt - I know the music will be brilliant. Kind Regards Jack and sorry if I've bored you.

Hi Jack, Coming home to Harmony Row! Although I've been a lifelong fan, it's only in the last couple of years that I've caught you on the road. I was one of the priviliged few who witnessed the gig in the foyer of the RSAMD in Glasgow last May, and Natasha kindly got you to sign the programme for myself and my partner, Julia. It was an uplifting night, which I'll never forget and which I'm sure you must have been quietly proud of. Funnily enough, I'd always imagined your music played as a big band sound - it seems to naturally lend itself to that format - so when I heard about the Birmingham (beautiful town hall) gig, we just had to go. I wasn't disappointed - I thought it sounded as though musically, you'd "come home" somehow, which is not to suggest you don't have many musical homes. Among many musical highlights on the night, I thought that "Born Under a Bad sign" and "Smiles & Grins" were just amazing. My only regret is that "Tickets to Waterfalls" didn't make it onto the set list. I really do think that you should do a big band tour, even if it's just the UK and get a CD of this stuff out. I think your moment has come again. It would doubtless be a strain on the old lungs and I've wondered if you've ever considered bring in a guest singer - Pat Kane from Hue & Cry would be a good fit,I think. After the gig, we accidentally found ourselves with Marti the Fin hanging around the stage door and to complete the evening I got to shake your hand.I appreciate that you must be fed up with that stuff, but it meant a lot to us - Natasha even remembered us from Glasgow! The next day, I had to rush back to Glasgow to meet my eldest son and take him to see the Rangers playing St Mirren at Ibrox. I was too late, but as we drove down Harmony Row, I was telling him abut my Birmingham adventure. I asked him if he knew what was significant about Harmony Row. "Yes" he replied " Alex Ferguson was born here" Well, that two famous sons from Harmony Row! Many, many thanks for two wonderful gigs. I hope to see many more. Greetings from Glasgow regardez - youse Bob

I've been playing bass for 32 years, and it all started with hearing some Cream songs! Yet, over the years I've come to admire Jack Bruce as far more than the outstanding bassman he is. He is also an all-around brilliant musical mind. Listening, recently, to the beautiful, "Ships in the Night," and hearing the wonderful piano, and the cellos, I wondered if Mr. Bruce might someday grace us with some compositions for those instruments. Am I the only one who would find that interesting? I'll wait (and hope)and continue to enjoy the vast and varied library of JB--however it might grow. Thanks for the great music!!!

The Birmingham Town hall show with the BBC Big Band was brilliant. I think that the big band jazz sound suits Jack's music very well, some of the improvisation was superb, the arrangements powerful and Jack's singing wonderful, alongside the superb musicianship around him, including the band and Gary Husband. Jszz singer Clare Teal who presented the show for BBC wrote a short piece in the Yorkshire Post saying this was an 'amazing' show, 'one of the best concerts I've ever had the pleasure to attend'. I would like to think that there could be more collaborations of this kind, (perhaps with some new or different music)?

Hello Jack Seeing as i'm not able to get from the arse end of Africa to my home island , i listened to the BBC Big Band performance on the internet via the BBC 2 Radio website. I KNEW it would be great...but when i heard Theme for an Imaginary Western the tears started streaming down my face. It really really moves me ....so beautiful . I only discovered your music at the beg. of 2007 (thru YouTube !!!) so i only heard you sing this song for the first time last year . it WAS a video from 1971 though!! 'twas you sitting alone at a piano singing your heart out. It made me cry then , and now , 37 years from then , you can still bring the tears to my eyes . it's not just the beauty of the song , it's YOU singing it that gets me. ye know , yer voice might not have all that it used to have, but you can still convey all that is inside you through that voice . THAT is special. Enjoy the gig with that red-heeded nutter , Ginger . should be FUN .... ! enjoy the Tony Williams tributes as well and last but not least MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A SMASHIN' CHRISTMAS , MR JACK BRUCE. peace and love Janie xxxxx

Jack!: When are you coming back to the Bay Area? It has been more than ten long years since your last appearance here at the Stone on Broadway in the city...I had to go to NYC in '85 just to see you and Steve Swallow with Kip Hanrahan... Is there any chance that either The Cream or Kip will land on these strange and distant shores any time soon? We just got Peter Hammill a few months back and a few others...Yet there is no replacement for yourself and for that matter Robin "Hood of High-Gate" Trower! Could we please order yet another hot and crispy "B.L.T."...The last CD was a bite disappointing to me jaded-jazz-rock ears... More Pearl Jammish and commercial that one would have expected...I also miss you with West,Bruce & Laing...The CDs still sell...What about a reformation of these cats? Missing yourself Jack,Jaco whom I grew-up with in So. Florida in the 60's and 70's and of course Jonas Hellborg who I saw with Ginger and also Brian Auger a few times in the late 80's in Malibu...PLEASE Rock our world Jack!

Hey Jack.Hope you are feeling well and looking forward to Christmas cooking again! Have greatly enjoyed Seven Moons and in seeing Robin Trower play very recently I couldn't help but wish that you two were touring together.Being greedy I'd love to see you with Leslie and Corky also, never mind more Cream gigs.Actually seeing YOU would be the main thing!I have just posted a song called One Finger Boogie about the perils of writing and recording alone at home without a band, at www.MySpace.com robfaircloth. Boy could I do with your songwriting, your voice, your playing and your inspiration. Not much to ask for there, eh? Anyway I wanted to make a reference to you and so, 50 seconds in, I've mentioned your name and shamelessly ripped two bars of Sunshine! My apologies but your influence really does spread to all extremes of musical ability!Take care and thank you so much for your continuing genius. Rob

Hey, all. Messed up when I was trying to tell you yesterday about a web location and song I've written where I have made reference to Jack. Didn't know or understand about the various rules of engagement or web language allowed. Suffice to say that the song One Finger Boogie is at www.myspace.com0robfaircloth where 0 represents a forwardslash. Hope this makes sense now - and BOOGIE ON!!! All Hail the great and Powerful Mr. Jack Bruce!!! Rob

To Jack and band, thanks so much for touring and bringing your music to Japan. The trip from Australia was so worth it to see you guys up close, having fun and playing great music. You guys never missed a beat and were a really tight jazz rock fusion - funk outfit. I only hope that the filming and recording by Fuji Television on the last night can be released on DVD as these performances shouldn't be lost to the world. Seeing you guys only confirmed to me what I already knew, that you are one of the world's most accomplished and versatile musicians of the past 50 years.

Hi Jack Bruce. I and my wife Beth wish you the happiest 2009 for you and family and career. As could have happened with any legend in music, your return to the music industry and venues is really something else, with the characteristic quality that you always do with your songs. Many happy tours with Trower and Husband, Jack Bruce; your bass is as commanding and authoritative as ever, and it marks other successful come-back where unfortunately Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison failed, God bless them... Thanks so much for your music. Much health, peace of mind and realizations for 2009. Seven Moons is as aggressive and with that taste of news as were Out Of The Storm, Songs For A Tailor, Spirit (instrumental),cd Cities Of The Heart and Wheels of Fire albuns, yes... Best! Carlos Bill, bass player.
