Hello Jack: I have been a fan since I was ten years old when I was introduced to Cream by my older brother. After Cream disbanded, I wondered where you went. By chance, I picked up a record called "Colosseum:The Grass is Greener." Here, your old friends John Hiseman and the late, great Dick Heckstall-Smith covered "Rope Ladder to the Moon." Nice Work! I immediately went out and purchased "Songs for a Tailor." I purchased it again in C.D. format. It remains one of my favorite records ever. It's timeless, like you! Jack, please stay inspired and remain in good health. I love you. Sincerely, Greg Twyman

I was in Santa Monica last weekend, and ran across an old Porsche (either a 356 Cabriolet, or possibly a Speedster), with "SWLABR" license plates. And it was Cream-colored, to boot! Made me wonder if the car belonged to Mr. Bruce... As a side comment - as wonderful as Eric Clapton plays on the live "Crossroads" (from Wheels of Fire), Jack's bass playing totally steals the show. Just an incredible performance!

Hi Jack, I really am Jack Bruce, I'm 18 months old and live with Mum & Dad in Sydney. They have played me your music lots and I like it. I had a brain tumour removed last month and am now undergoing radiotherapy and, hopefully, I will get well to enjoy your music for years to come. Any chance of a special message? I would be very pleased to hear from you, via my Grandad's email address. Thanks Jack Bruce

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Jack, cannot thank you enough for so many years of wonderful music you have turned out, not only with Graham Bond and Cream, but especially your solo work. As I am writing this I am listening and watching when you did "Theme" live and dedicated it to Felix before you started. Such a shame he died so young! I dedicated a song once to one of my harmonica idols, Paul Butterfield when I played at Buddy Guy's lounge several years ago in Chicago. You were huge influence also in getting me into harp playing, when i first heard you do "Rollin and Tumblin" on Fresh Cream, and "Traintime" on the Wheels album live, it was awesome, and i have been playing harp now for over 40 years, and I thank you for being an inspiration then and even now. Happy Birthday and have many many more Jack, Bluesman Ron

Happy Birthday, Mr. Bruce! I just saw the recent documentary about you on You Tube. My favorite parts were when Pete Brown said that you lived and breathed music and when, at the end, you talked about only being really happy when you're performing. This corroborates how I view you - as the embodiment of music. May you always find the next gig. Sheri

Great last Live Album, Jack... you're still the best creative musician from the 60's to now ...!!! You enjoyed my youth, listening your fabulous ways of playing the bass, and your own songs, and such a voice... Still loving your songs... Respects. Hi Jack, Had the extreme pleasure of sitting right in the front row a little to your left at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 26th May 2012 for your Big Blues Band gig. (A birthday present from my lovely partner Kate) - As a fellow Glasgow Bass Player, it was a wonderful experience particularly as you were my inspiration for taking up Bass some 30 odd years ago I remember learning all of "songs for a Taylor" note for note when I started out, then hassling successive bands I played in over the years to play "Badge" and then "Born Under a Bad Sign" Being close enough on Saturday to make eye contact with the band was incredible - the best birthday present ever. I'm 'retired' from gigging these days but it's great to see that you are still grooving As the somewhat loud lady half way up the hall said, "we love you Jack" - and yes, there's really no answer to that . . . keep it up (not "Down") Bill

Hi Jack, Yes it's the "loon" from Banff who raised a glass to you on the 28th May in Perth as respect as you came into the venue with your rucksack on your back. I didn't want to hassle you so just gave you a nod & a wink. An utterly AWESOME gig. I loved ALL the old numbers off your solo albums. Honestly i cried when YOU played them live, especially "Theme". Get back with Leslie & Corky for some heavy stuff man. I'll treasure the gig for the rest of my life. Thanks Jack, it was great. Sean.

Jack, Your work has been an ongoing inspiration for me since the early days of Cream. You have offered a very personal testament to the power of music and the importance of the artist in society. You are a rare breed, a divine gift in a world that is growing dark. May you be given the time necessary to complete your mission. Gratitude to you ... and yours.

I just listened to sample clips from the new Spectrum Road album and was blown away! I immediately ordered it from Amazon, and should get it early next week. This seems like the perfect band for you, and I am sure that it's going to be an enormous success. Jack and jazz - what could be better? (Though I am intrigued by "Scottish miserable-ism". Perhaps you're a friend of Phillip Glass? ;-) I will report back when I get my new CD and run it through its paces full blast in my car. Sheri, your fan from the classical side

Dear Jack, just watched the documentary film you did recently and really liked the new versions of some of your greatest tunes. The version of Theme with the strings added was awesome!! Always enjoy listening to stories about the days of Cream with Eric and Ginger, the three of you made such a great contribution to rock and pop music, and influenced so many people in their music, including me!!!
