I just found out of the passing. I grew up listing to the music of the cream in the late 60's. What a bass player and singer. The world just got a little bit darker.

After seeing Cream farewell tour at the old Spectrum in Phila. I bought the GoodBye ablum listening to I'm so Glad, I felt very sad my beloved band was defunct. Getting over that, it was great to be able to see Jack with different musicians over the years. I remember seeing Jack at bar in DE, how lucky that was. I was near the doorway when Jack walked out to go on stage and I called out "Yo Jack Babe." In the quintessential Jack moves he looked at me, raised a his hand and nodded his head. he was cool.

Very...very....sad... I just prepared the photo's I made, 21 years ago....for his upcoming DVD (his wonderful 50th Anniversary Concerts in Cologne 1993), when an old Friend (a...Bass-Player...!) informed me, that he entered the final stage. Since then, I play all my favorite Jack-Songs again and again...every day. Being in a strange Mood since...His unique (!) Voice and the timeless Melodies accompanied me for my whole life as a Music-Listener (and Lover...). His Music reaches me in a very special, intimate way. The sometimes...Melancholy...even in his early-age-Songs (Folk Song and Theme For...are my all-time Faves !) has woven a warm net around my life and was...is...able to be a steady companion in a lot of experiences. My Love for the Scottish Landscapes and my never forgotten Highland-Walks...I still can remember as it was yesterday...when I hear his Songs. As Christian Wagner went to the funeral and asked for a few photos, I felt the urge, that one, I shot back then, he HAD to take with him for Jack's Wife Margrit and the Children. It was a more privat one...between the Rehearsals, where he's sitting in an old Barber-Chair, his baby in his arms, surrounded by his family...a warm smiling in a lucky Man's Face...The Chair is standing in my living room since then. Use it every day. Thanxxx for all the...true...moments with your unique Music. Miss you... ...Master of the Moods bye Jack...

I saw Jack and his band play at the Cornhill Exchange in Ipswich last year and they were brilliant!! I would have been just as happy to watch Jack play on his bass all night. I'm so glad I went (no pun intended). It is with extreme sadness to hear of his passing. My heart felt condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you Jack, for inspiration. As a young musician I was absolutely inspired to sing and play bass at the same time - and to compose also! Seeing and hearing Jack then all these years later with Spectrum Road was just out of this world! Goddess bless Jack Bruce and his family. Thanks too for including all of us fans all over the world! Jack.Thank you for the years of sharing your talent and love of music. I heard Cream for the first time in Jr High,it was a long jam version of" I'm so glad",i did not know that the bass could be played like that,my first inspiration to play was watching old footage of Cream, they were my gateway to my musical journey, thanks to them and many other of their peers i play Bass and guitar. Every time i pick up my bass i will think of you, Rock in Peace Jack.

I remember discovering the brilliance that was Cream. Someone had recommended Jack's bass playing and so I bought the box set and was amazed. Next, followed solo cds and I was beyond amazed. I love playing along to the tunes now and if I I am feeling down, I will listen to a Jack Bruce cd and it will cheer me up and inspire me. Thank you, Jack Bruce for all that you gave to this world. When I was 18 I worked a club in Boston called the Physcadellic Supermarket. It was my job to be with the bands and get them what they needed. The first band to open the club was cream This was their first tour in the USA. It was my job to hold up Jacks Marshal Stack and keep it from falling over. I did this for 2 shows a night for one week. Jack Mack and the Heart Attack Horns. I thought Jack was a star. He had so much power, He felt godlike to me. and to think he was so young back then. He had a big impact on me and I am sure changed my life forever.

The juke box in my parents' snooker hall in the Orkney Isles held all of the great Cream singles. As as a result I have been hooked on the band's collective (and individual) brilliance since my pre-teenage years. The grooves on their records were worn smooth through constant play. In 2005 I was one of the lucky ones to secure a ticket and witness the Cream reunion. It was absolutely out of this world and 'I'm So Glad' that I was there to witness this momentous occasion. Jack was a terrific talent in all of his musical ventures and although he will certainly be sorely missed by millions all over the world, his musical excellence will be listened to and appreciated for generations to come.

Rest in peace, Jack. I am a fairly new musician, I picked up playing bass about two years ago. I always had an appreciation for the music of Cream, and now that I am a musician, I have an even greater appreciation for your work in cream. The bass lines you created were groundbreaking in their time, your vocals powered over the excellent work of you, Mr. Baker, and Mr. Clapton, and really have the songs of Cream a very passionate and strong sound. When I would look for inspiration for creating my own bass lines, you were always one of the first artists I would listen to. Such a shock to the music community of your passing. May you rest in peace, and rub elbows with some of the greats up in heaven.

Jack Bruce was my inspiration to play bass. His style of a lead bass was the best and reflected my personality as well. Through each of his transitions, rock, jazz, and the combinations, he excelled and pushed the envelope. I saw him solo at the electric factory in Philadelphia and in New York for the comeback tour. Wheels of Fire was my alma mater. Even though he was not well at the New York concert, he was so musically in tuned. I saw him pick up for Clapton without a hitch which when Clapton had a lapse and did not come into a song when he was supposed to. They gave each other that familiar look..sweet! I will never forget the words.. there is no retreat from time that has died.. deserted cities of the heart.. With our prays and blessing for the family.. With respect and love..Jeremiah

Jack was one of my most admired musicians ever. When my daughter was born in 1974 I listened to his first two solo records "Songs for tailor" and "Harmony row" all the nicht. He was a part of my life and I will miss him and his outstanding music. Bernhard

Thank You, Jack Bruce! You always were, are and will be my Bass Master. And, Oh the Singing, along those Silver Rails... My sincere and deepest Condolences, to your Family and Friends, from Gothenburg, where I heard and saw you - among other places and times - at Cirkus, back in the Olden Freedom Days of '67. You end the Show, I take a Bow... Rest in Peace, Jack.

I was truly sad to learn that Jack Bruce had passed away on October 25. He was iconic and trend setting as a bass player and a composer - and a singer. A truly great voice is now silent. I have followed him since the days of Cream, and I had the good fortune to hear Jack Bruce with Friends in Copenhagen in 1982. His solo LPs hold pride of place in my record collection. I heard Colosseum in concert in Hamburg a few days ago. Deeply affected by Bruce's death, they played his Morning Story - a beautiful song, and a beautiful gesture honouring the death of a truly great musician.

There was one particular song I had in my mind, several days even before Jack Bruce went. I sang that tune for myself all day long and even arranged it for acapella. It was 'I feel Free' When the word of Jack Bruce's passing to the next world reached me, I knew why. So for the last time, I will hail one musucian who had a forming influence on what I call "my music". Fly free, Jack!

I would like to say a prayer for the Family and friends of Mr. Jack Bruce. God truly blessed us all with his music and voice on all the instruments that he mastered. I cannot stop playing his music for the last few weeks as a way of Honoring him and remembering all the wonderful moments he gave us. As a guitarist I loved Cream, but was very moved by his solo records after Cream broke up. To release Things We Like after the success of Cream really showed class, courage, and love of Art. And it also featured(and helped) the great John McLaughlin. Songs for a Tailor and Harmony Row preceded a number of terrific recordings. I never had the Honor to meet Mr. Bruce but his music continues to inspire and lift me a great deal. My Brother (an awesome Bassist) and I saw him at Park West in Chicago many years ago. He walked out and sang "Can you follow"...how beautiful an opening to a terrific show. His singing and playing of the Bass, Guitar, Piano, Harp, Cello is simply beauty. In a world of Digital "Music" - of sameness and Reality TV and American Idol blandness, he is the REAL DEAL. Industrial Child is simply haunting. He took chances and lived music in EVERY NOTE. What a lesson to continue to inspire us all. Thank you, Lord for this wonderful ARTIST. My sympathies to the Bruce family.

Jack gone, but his music stays forever. To rally understand it try to dig in his solo and session projects, with Escalator over the hill, Helen twelve trees, Greek Variations, Neil Ardley, Mike Gibbs, Links, tons of bootlegs, Hyde park concert in 1971, WBL, Cozy Powell sessions, Jimi Hendrix jamming, Lifetime, Kip Hanrahan, Golden Palominos, ECM records with Paul Motian, Mike Taylor, Graham Bond, Pete Brown, Bill Ward, Al Holdsworth, just a part of what comes to my mind, still there are thousands of minutes of marvelous concerts and studios to be discovered and give a rebirth. As long as we stay alive, he is with us. Dziekuje
