Farewell to one of my favorite musicians ever. Jack Bruce was a monster talent as an instrumentalist and one of rock's most distinctive vocalists. There are countless bass players that owe a debt to Jack with his groundbreaking approach to rock bass playing. But rock was only one of the spectrums where Jack excelled in. He was a master of jazz, blues, and other styles of music. He was an influence to me for many years and I will always remember him fondly. Goodbye, Jack and thank you for everything.

Rest in Peace, Jack Bruce. I have enjoyed and learned from your music since I was young boy. I discovered Your music along with millions of others in the sixties. "White Room" was the first thing I remember. From there I enjoyed your many efforts since. I have learned much from you. Thank you. To your family I send my condolences and offer my prayers. God Bless.

Hi - my heart goes out to you. Saw Cream at Agincourt Ballroom in Camberley in very early days, they drank barley wine in the pub next door before the gig, so did we, a dozen boys lined the stage and a dozen girls danced round handbags at the back. Saw them at the Marquee post U.S. tour when the P.A. kept going silent and Jack just kept on singing. Saw them at Farnborough and Guildford. Now 66, I'll never forget those days, the original power trio and their modest but brilliant bass player. Thank you Jack, you will live on through us. Catch you later ... Bob

Jack was my favorite bassist from my favorite group since 1967. I was lucky enough to see him perform with CREAM, West, Bruce & Laing, The Jack Bruce Band, & with Ringo's All Star Band. His voice, lyrics & music were a constant inspiration for me. He was versatile enough to be able to play all styles of music for decades. I'm sorry I was never able to see him play with the Graham Bond Organization or BLT. As a drummer, I really appreciated his master musicianship. May He Rest In Peace.

At the age of 64, I personally feel the loss of one of rock's truest greats. I have loved Mr. Bruce's driving lead bass from high school through Cream's 2005 reunion tour. I lit a candle in his honor last night and hope that he finds heaven to be a place where the best of the best spend their time jamming. Jack, God rest and embrace your soul; you have so enriched my life with your music.

My formative years in the late 60's were decorated with the colors of amazing music, amongst which the Cream ranks high. Jack's amazing talent, both in bass and in voice shone through and provided a beautiful foundation for these noble souls to to spread their wings. Their music spoke of the Winds of Change; that same wind that gave us Jack, has taken him home. "I can walk down the street; there's no one there..." Thanks for the beauty you shared...

It remains my favourite record. 40 years later I was able to say thank you to Jack personally for the 4 unforgettable nights at the RAH where I was lucky enough to attend all 4 shows. The last of which I sat with my wife in the front row just feet away from Jack. It seemed like he was playing just for us. I couldn`t be more sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends. He basically invented modern rock bass guitar and I will be listening to him for as long as I'm still around. When he merged witb Clapton and Baker, he helped push musical boundaries to the limit. Their magical live performances must have been stunning. So sorry I was not old enough to see them, but also so grateful they made the Royal Albert Hall for the superb reunion. Jack was a truly and amazing bass guitarist and vocalist, probably the best ever, and considering how many greats I have seen in the last 45 years that says something about what an influence he has been in my life. R.I.P. Jack

Everyone will be remembering how great Mr. Bruce was in Cream, and for good reason..I wanted to point out that his work with Kip Hanrahan in the late 80's, early 90's was awesome. I started listening to that in high school, and I couldn't believe the same guy who sang White Room was on Days and Nights of Blue Luck Inverted. It sort of gave me permission to expand my ears from good rock to good jazz..he had a nobility in his singing too. Condolences to his family...so sorry.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jack Bruce. The song Theme From An Imaginary Western literally changed the course of my life. Was in January 1970..the sun was setting over the water (majestic in our area..unique in all of the world) and I was returning home and put Theme on (8 Track player) and in the mirror the sun was disappearing into the water..I turned around and made a very important decison..and this would change my life forever. Very best regards, Handlebar Henry-World's Most Magnificent Moustache

This is gut-wrenching for myself, seeing as how I grew up listening to Cream, and how that band has influenced how I listen to and play music in so many ways. I still have all my Cream albums (in vinyl!) and Disreali Gears is virtually a plastic slinky toy now, it's been played so much-that's just how much I have loved this band! Jack's bass, his songwriting, and especially his vocal style left a very large impression on me-I admit to stealing some vocal licks off Jack! A true force of nature on stage, and the studio! I knew his health over the last few years was not good, but Jack's passing still comes as a shock to me; please pass my condolences to the family, whom I'm sure are in a deep state of grief now... I'm 62 years old. I saw Cream in Chicago 1968. I thought I was going to see a really good band with "God" on guitar. From the opening chord of White Room I was memorized by Jack. The incredible vocals, and the Bass playing. Oh my the Bass playing! I remember so often that was towering over Eric and Ginger. I walked out of that stadium a 16 year old on a life long journey as a fan of this musicians, musician. Although we never met I felt I have lost a good friend. Even though I'm a guitar player, Jack is one of my biggest influences. His playing taught me that even if you are going "way out there" during a solo, you can still reference all the changes. His work on Cozy Powell's solo records are often an overlooked part of his career, but are some of my favorite performances. Even though I never knew the man, it makes me sad that he's not on the same planet I am anymore.

You were such an inspiration. Cream provided the soundtrack to my time in secondary school in the late 2000s', a time of musical darkness and doggerel. Your work with Cream inspired me to sing, form my own power-trio. Your solo career, from 'Songs for a Tailor' to 'Silver Rails' was brilliant, and the latter-most release should have been followed up with many more equally magnificent records. But cruel fate and chance are not always so permitting, and this time they especially weren't. Lights Close Your Tired Eyes, RIP Jack Bruce The Greatest Bassist in the History of the Genre of Rock

Dear Jack and Family, To be honest, I was very, very sad when I learned that YOUR soupergroup split up at a time when I was quite young - and YOURSELF, ERIC, and GINGER left us alone for 38 long years. The happier I was when I ran to the shop in 2005 to get the RAH DVD's. Now things have changed again... Well, if there is something more to come - possibly we all will experience - I see you playing with Jimi and Rory - or with Alvin and Johnny or Stevie Ray - eventually with JJ? John will play the drums and Jon, Ray or Billy could help on the organ. Janis and Jim could do the vocals....But possibly you have others in mind? Nevertheless, keep on playing. You gave us a lot - thank you for that. Best Wilfried

I have every cd and will indeed continue to play his music every day - he left such a rich legacy! I recall when I saw him last year at the Palace if Fine Arts performing the Tony Williams tribute I was so jazzed up about the show, the following morning I called my very good friend Gwen Williams (who had been married to Tony) to let her know how brilliant it was. May you rest in peace dearest Jack!

Jack is the reason I became a bass player. I caught Cream on their goodbye tour here in Rhode Island in '68. At 18, I was ready for the influence. It left an indelible mark on me. The world is a poorer place without that quintessential bass playing and marvelous voice. Vaya con Dios, Jack....

I was 13 when Cream released their first album; heard it that same year and became an instant fan. I grew up on jazz and rock and really dug Jack's music. Harmony Row, Things We Like, Out of the Storm as well as his work with West Bruce & Laing and with Robin Trower and others. Shadows In The Air, Songs For A Tailor... although I never met him or communicated with him, his music reached me, and moved me. My sympathy to all of his family and friends and his fellow fans.

Cream was a band that sparked my love of music. Jack wrote a few of my favorite tunes too. He joins other greats who passed before him. I thank God for sharing him with us all. Now he rocks in heaven.

Looking back to the sixties you just think of Jack, being part of It all. Obviously to family and friends-That was just a part of his life. Me I grew up In the sixties. There was always something of the sixties about me even at fifty, as someone said. My thoughts are with all his family and friends. God bless.

My deepest sympathy to Jack's family, I grew up in the 60's and Cream is still my all time favourite band, there will never be another band that has left such a great effect on me. I also have Jack's CD's in his solo career
